an interview with ALLY ISKANDAR

Living in a developed country with media growing up day by day is inevitable. The press and the media are like a part of everyone’s life in Malaysia. They are the ones who ring the bell, open our eyes and shut the door. Thanks to Ally Iskandar Mohd Mardzi for being in the world of media. He just spices up more with what we already had. Getting a Degree in English and Film Studies from University of Pacific, Stockton, California, United State has contributed a lot to him now.
Ally Iskandar is very welcoming with me although I am the “last minute”.
1.    How long have you been with TV3?
      10years. I started work there around 1999
2.    Where are you working at before TV3?
English Teacher - Sekolah Kebangsaan Kg. Tunku, Petaling Jaya, Taman Datuk Harun
English Lecturer – Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran MARA) KL-Kolej Poly-TechMARA (Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran MARA) Kuantan
3.    What is the qualification of becoming host and producer?
There is really no specific qualification in becoming any of these. Anyone can be as long they are willing to work hard. Being in the media is not a place of popularity. It is all about hard work!
4.    At what age did you begin to consider a career in this field? This is your dream job?
At the age of 8 years old, I know that this is what I want to be and yes this is my dream job
5.    Briefly explain the work that you do for the past 10 years.
1st appearance – game show, Mana Popular Sinaran Pasport Kegemilangan Full time basis – Malaysia Hari Ini (MHI)
6.    Do you come from a media family?
Not at all. My parents are quiet and I could say that I am quite naughty in my kid’s era. That is why I love to explore new things
7.    You’re work is increasing day by day. So, how’s your routine now? Do you have more time for yourself and family?
Honestly, I hardly had time for myself and my family. This kind of work has a high expectation from everybody. But I am okay with it because I love my work and I enjoy every single thing that I do. For me my work is like a vacation because I get to travel and meet new people. For instance Jom Heboh.
8.    When you look back at the last 10 years when nobody knew you then, and everybody knows you now, is it kind of strange for you?
I don’t think it is a strange thing. To be in the media, this is a subject matter. Like it or not everybody will know you and sometimes it can be difficult but that is life. Accept it as it is and go with the flow because barriers just make you stronger.
9.    Do you have any role model/s that you admire?
Oprah Winfrey, Larry king and Richard Quest
10.    Have you ever thought of broaden your field to a bigger level? Meaning, doing work outside of Malaysia?
Yes, I’ve thought and dreamt of that. As you can see, I am not fully established in Malaysia. Therefore going overseas and perform there is another wall I have to break through. I have to be better that I am right now in order to achieve that.
11.    What is it that makes you love your career so much?
Sharing. For me, sharing is everything. I love telling and giving people information that they don’t know. Sharing information is the beauty of talking.
12.    Have you ever considered changing career? This is a fun and enjoyable work but it can be tiring and hectic sometimes?
    No! Not at all!
13.    What is your biggest, proudest achievement so far?
Producing and hosting my first reality show, Top Host.
14.    Everything in your career involved talking. Debating or Public Speaking and why?
Debating because we can exchange opinions and discuss and from there a mutual understanding can be form. Unlike public speaking, it is only a one-way communication. You talk and people just hear you. You will never know whether they agree with you or not?
15.    Words of wisdom?
    Don’t just fly, soar
16.    Lastly, explain yourself in 3 words.
Short, ‘poyo’ and critical Without MyTV3 Campus road show and Ally talk, I probably would never get this unforgettable opportunity to interview him. Credits to En. Abdul Rauf b. Hj. Ridhuan, the coordinator of Mass Communication UiTM Alor Gajah, Melaka, Nor Khamisah bt Mohd Noor, the head project and the whole crew.

YOU ARE THE BEST i EVER HAD

So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring

Nothing's quite the same now
I just say your name now

But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't want me back
You're just the best I ever had

So you stole my world
Now I'm just a phony
Remembering the girl
Leaves me down and lonely

Send it in a letter
Make yourself feel better

But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't need me back
You're just the best I ever had

And it may take some time to
Patch me up inside
But I can't take it so I
Run away and hide
And I may find in time that
You were always right
You're always right

So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring

What was it you wanted
Could it be I'm haunted

But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
I don't want you back
You're just the best I ever had
The best I ever had
The best I ever

A Girl

A girl won’t just walk away when there’s problem upon her.
A girl won’t just walk away when someone pushes her.
A girl won’t just walk away when she make mistakes.
A girl is just an ordinary girl but what she does makes it extra extraordinary.
A girl needs an inspiration to live on in this world.
Nothing can break her apart from who she really is.
No matter how far she went, she will eventually come back.
A girl is a star that shines above you.
You can see girls everywhere you go.
 Beautiful girls spreading their wings.
Those white wings are what guys love for.
We can’t get enough of a girl whether you’re a girl or a guy.
A girl is your best friend in any circumstances.
A girl is your pillow to cry on, snow that you can play with, a blanket when you’re cold.
A girl is just a girl. What more can we say about a girl.
No one is perfect in this life which is why we kept doing mistakes. Who cares?
No one will learn if everything is complete.
A girl will always try to find her puzzle.
The shattered glasses are precious to a girl.
No guy can compare his life with a girl.
 A girl feels everything.
She cried before someone did. She laughed before someone did.
A girl is the monsoon. A girl is the summer.
Those two perfectly matched as nothing comes easily.
Nothing can be fun without tears.
A smile of a girl is what everyone needs.
Her eyes squint like a shining star.
An ocean without a girl is no spice.
A mall without a girl is dead.
A home without a girl is screaming less.
 What more can be explained?
Appreciate a girl like you appreciate the favours that your friends did.
Love a girl like you love your family and your pets.
Because a girl can be as special as you can think of.
Don’t tear her apart. Don’t break her heart.
A girl is as fragile as your china. A girl won’t live as long as your collectable stuff.
The word girl itself refers to softness and merry.
So cherish her every minute that you have.
Don’t ever forget a thing that she has done to you.
Don’t ever forget that memorable stuff about her.
Every beating and every humming of yours can be surrounded by the voice of a girl.
 A girl

what is WRONG with me???

URGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Another DILEMMA!!! Yet another late post!!! What is WRONG with me??? What has got into me??? I am between DO IT and DON'T DO IT. In choosing the best is not easy. Well, actually there is no such thing as the best as nothing is perfect. I have been weighing these two since forever and I seem to like both of it. One has its own advantage and the other one has its own benefits. I AM LOST!!! DEFINITELY!!!  Please someone help me!!! Well, on second thought ~ nah... I need no one help. I just need to think and sit down! And think and lay down! And think and god knows what else. I am so freaking vulnerable. Easily addicted, seduced and do not forget gullible!! Am I blind folded??? Em... even I am not sure with that. Well, gotta go!

Jom Jengah Desa

what I am going to tell you here may be equal to out of a blue situation. why is that? well, because it includes the DE'BEST CLUB! yupe! exactly!!! when was the last time i thought that i would be hanging out and mingling around with them. well, it never cross my mind actually. well, it is not something bad as i am not active as everyone else. i just got back from Jom Jengah Desa recently. A home-stay event conducted by the De'Best Club. At first, I did not have the urge to join it but my friends insisted me too. After coming back from the trip, I started to realize how a big LOSS it would be if I don't.

It was FUN!!!! It was definitely the BEST!!!! If I would given the opportunity to go back, believe me I would! It was not what I expected. The memories are glued to me! I would never forget every single thing. Mak Angkat was the best! She treated us nicely and her cooking was marvelous. As usual, I ate like I never eat before! :)

The activities were exciting! Mengoca was fun and something new (maklumla bandar mne ade, ade kg pon xde sungai..huhu), although I did not catch any fish at all except for the caught sands in my pants! Before I forgot, I learned a traditional dance which is called Endeng (if I'm not mistaken). Here is the clip of our so called dance. It is hilarious you can say. Everything was out of control.
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX6uDTQqE3o&feature=player_embedded#at=18

What else can I tell you. Let see.... I am just speechless because everything was like perfect! I made lots of new friends. Well, obviously. Never knew being with my juniors could be so much fun (jujur from my heart ni). My best moment was mandi waterfall. That was like the cherry on the top! Maklumla, dah lame tak mandi sungai kn. BEST GILE. Plus, with the WOW ride eva! hahaa.. naek truck walaupun selendang rosak coz tertarek ngn ranting!hehe...But overall is UNBELIEVABLE. Well that's all for now. Will continue later.

THANKS A BUNCH TO ALL DE'BEST CREWS. YOU GUYS JUST GIVE US 4 (me,mira, jha and emi) THE BEST MEMORY EVER <3 <3 <3

i AM back

Hey!!!! I AM BACK!!! From where???? You may ask. From a sacred place I would say and you would say either. Madinah and Makkah. Yupe! I went for umrah. It was one of a H*** (not supposed to use this term) trip! It was so much FUN! I feel like staying there forever and never come back. It is really serene. Your heart was like floating. Quit with the intro. Lets give out the details...

As I am writing this, I am actually imagining myself there. So, I would not prefer any past tense. Present is always the best.

First stop was Madinah. It is really peace as I mentioned before. The hotel is nice. Masjid Nabawi is like the center of everything in Madinah. Here, I perform my prayers back to back. Let just say the point of coming here is not to be praying in your hotel room but in the masjid itself. Although it is as pack as sardine can but it is still a WOW experience. The best part is to be able to be in Raudah (Rasullulah's and Siti Aisyah's home) where Makam Rasulullah is situated. Being in here and praying in here is like a PERFECT GETAWAY.  Nothing can compares the happiness of being here. Although there is a "ROUGH" moment - really rough. Yet it is worth it. Days pass so fast. Arriving equals to tears of happiness and leaving equals to tears of sadness.

BEING RAISED TO BE GENDERLESS???

I am utterly shocked with a statement made by a couple from Toronto where they wanted to raise their infant genderless. They kept a secret and did not write down the gender of the baby. Bad enough their other two kids (boys) are having these mentality where they can choose their own gender. The parents are actually exposing not bad but HORRIBLE perceptions and way of life. Imagine life with thousands like them?

Despite not being Muslims. In Christianity, this kind of behavior is also forbidden in the religion itself. It is unacceptable to most religions and cultures. Maybe some will say, it is my body. Therefore, it is up to me who I want to be. But this is not the case. Once you grow up (focus on non - Muslims), that is fine with me ( may be the person has decided that) but to be teaching this to kids??? Think back and think wisely! Bad enough they are home - schooled. I believe when it comes to knowledge, we have to broaden our mind with different perceptions and not just rely on one. If their kids are home - schooled, they will think that whatever the parents told them are right - no doubt about it. The wrong things could be right and vice versa. Accordance to that, they will or could experiencing low self-esteem and entry shock could be the lead to everything when they grow up (so lari tajuk - we will discuss on home-schooled later on)

I have no idea why I am so caught up with this issue. But it really pisses me off - not literally though. It is unfair for the kids. I have been living for 20 years and I have never heard of such thing. THIS IS ABSURD!!!

TRAVELLiNG

Travel. Travelling. Who doesn't love to travel? I am sure most of everyone love to travel. Either it is a long journey or a short one. As travelling can be such fun, it can also become nuisance and can cause unnecessary tantrum among the travelers. When does this exist? or happen? Yes! Exactly! Before the journey itself. This usually happens within a family (my point of view of course). Why am I saying this?

Ladies and Gentlemen prepare for the unexpected (biase je sebenarnye)

1.  Your mother keeps telling you to pack your bag over and over again

2. You tend to dilly dally

3. Your mother is still under the state of endurance

4. Again tells you to start packing because you are only left with a week. Even gives you a list of things to bring

5. You start packing in a slow mode

6. Your mother is about to go to the next stage - FURIOUS

7. Only 5 days left. Now your mother has to do all the preparations

8. Your father is busy doing something which has got nothing to do with the travelling (sleeping and watching TV)

9. Your mother suddenly is having high blood pressure because she keeps yelling to your younger siblings regarding the work they have to do

10. Your youngest sibling keeps throwing all sorts of silly questions towards your mother

11. TANTRUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

12.Suddenly  all the packing thingy is under control or is done

13. Everything is back to normal

14. HOLD ON!!!! Another crisis is on the way.

15. You forget to pack one of the most important thing. TOILETRIES.

16. Back to square one. (given the list and still lupe - lagi la kene marah)

TO LEND OR NOT TO LEND???

Salam,

To Lend or not to Lend??? This is like a NOT BIG, NOT HUGE but GIGANTIC question, issue, dilemma, whatever you guys call it these days.

You can borrow your friends stuffs. I have no problems with it. Even I have no problems with my friends borrowing my stuffs. But sometimes you have your limits! Remember it is not YOURS - it is your FRIEND's. Come to an end, I feel like having this deepest, darkest place to put all of my belongings. So that no one would dare take it! But that would've be mean (and I don't want to be a meanie me).

Here are few common things asked to borrow from

If you have the chick to ask for something from someone. Then you must take a good care of it!!! Do not let it be like this!!!

Or these will eventually happen

THE ONLY CHiLD

Salam,
Being the only child in family is usually something that those with siblings would DIE for. And why is that?

1.Tired with all the mess done by siblings

2. Tired of your life being scrutinize by your siblings

3. Tired with all the repetitive questions (if you are the eldest)

4. Tired of quarrellings (sometimes the reasons are unnecessary)

5. Tired of THEM (on and off activity)

While the only child in a family is DYING to have, own, get etc siblings. And why is that?

1. Tired of being alone (no playmate)

2. Tired of being too free (no peeping tom)

3. Tired of being too relax (need to have someone to fight with)

4. Tired of being self-centered (need to share, divide the LOVE with others)

5. Tired of serenity (LOUD is what they want)

Other thing, is it true that being married with the only child is NIGHTMARE? (that's what they told me). They said that the parents will have hard time letting their kid go. Does that mean you have to stay under one roof with the parents although you are married? Well, is this fact or just another typical myth. Passed from mouth to mouth. Some may be. But in this new era...really?

LONG TIME NO SEE

Long time no see. Sudah lama tidak jumpe.

I just reunited back with my (guess who), PLKN mate! Mimi! It has been a long long long time since we see each other. She was the first girl I talked to. She was a nice and sweet girl. We chat for a while just now. I was given a surprise by her! She is now married and have two lovely kids! OMG!!! She got married a few months after got back from PLKN. Well, I cannot really question that. It is faith. Her time has come. Now is me! hehee... I am aiming for 26 or 27 years old. I can always plan but the future is in Allah's hand.

Guess that's all for now ;)

There is this thing. It is said that on earth our husbands or wives are our match. But let say, (we are not praying for this) if either the husband or the wife end up in hell (neraka) instead of heaven (syurga). Our partner will get a new partner and that is his or her real match (not the one during our life times).

IGNORANCE

Salam,

Not ignorance, but ignorance of ignorance is the death of knowledge.
Alfred North Whitehead

If ignorance is indeed bliss, it is a very low grade of the article.
Tehyi Hsieh

Everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects.
Will Rogers

Ignorance is no excuse-it's the real thing.
Irene Peter

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Admiration is the daughter of ignorance.
Benjamin Franklin

I say there is no darkness but ignorance.
William Shakespeare

Despite of all the quotes above. In Islam; IGNORANCE = NO TOLERANCE. Education, knowledge, information etc. is vital to each of us. A man with no knowledge is like a man with no clothes. What is the point of having a lot of outputs if you don't have any inputs? Even, it is stated that Satan is more afraid of people who have knowledge rather than nothing. Knowledge can change people in a sec. When you have the knowledge, you will have the ability to think what is right and what is wrong.

Do you eat to live or live to eat?

Ya Allah... Please do not be like us! hahaha... mengikut sunnah Rasulullah kita kene berhenti sebelum kenyang. Meaning to that ~ you eat to live! Not the other way round.

"ABBREVIATIONS"

Abbreviations are widely used these days. In text messages, in chatting, in writings and even in conversations. But, how far does this is used correctly. I mean, we keep on shortening every single thing to an extend where people don't get it at all. Therefore, let me enlighten you to some of the "abb" used :

STFU     SHUT THE F*** UP

NOYB     NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS

MYOB    MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

KMA       KISS MY ASS

BAB1     (WELL, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT)

IDGD      I DON'T GIVE A DAMN

GTH       GO TO HELL

Wonder why you haven't heard some of them? because I used them! Yes, caught red handed. So, anyone who ever got this right to your face. I am sorrreee :)

A BLOG???

A blog??? Is this for real. I had this kind, like the last two years and I did not do any updates on it. Out of nowhere, I am creating a new one. Yes it is 4.21am. I am aware of that. No need to remind me that it is time to sleep. The main 'objective' of me making this blog is BECAUSE most of my friends have it too. Boohoo! So what? I am not allowed to copy my friends now? (I am so getting cuckoo). I have been trying to reach this guy since 11.43pm last night. Seems like his ringing phone is not LOUD enough for him to ANSWER it! URGHH!!! Yes, I am getting a little bit TWITCHY (a lil' bit you said - more like a barrel of KFC).

Before I go on and yap about things that even I have no clue. Let just say, this blog will be for REAL! I mean, going to commit on doing it. No Point of creating a new blog every month and end up in a trash! So, nighty nite! Gotta go to bed now!
